Did you ‘Slide The City’ this summer? Suncore did. On July 19, local company Slide The City set up a 1,000-foot water slide in downtown Salt Lake. The two-lane, 11-foot wide custom slide was set up on Main Street between North Temple and 300 North and offered local residents the ride of their lives. The event was put on to rally the community and raise donations for local non-profit organizations. Suncore enjoyed providing the magic ingredient to make this slide a success — water. A Suncore water truck pumped more than 35,000 gallons of water down this massive slide, to the delight of kids and adults of all ages. Participants rode the slide on tubes, blow up animals and bare bellies. The water slide carried passengers at speeds up to 15 miles per hour and ended in a three-foot wading pool. Participants then walked the three blocks back up to ride it again. Various ticket packages were sold to local residents and businesses to enjoy this first-of-its-kind attraction. A large portion of the thousands of dollars in proceeds was donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Salt Lake City. More than 3,000 community members coming from Provo to Ogden came out to ride the slide. Suncore is proud to be building better communities and was happy to help make a splash at this event.
